As many of you know, M. and I had an ultrasound appointment on Thursday. In addition to the "regular" images that most of us have become familiar with, there's new technology that can create amazing 3D images.
Here you can very clearly see the left hand being held across the face in front of the right eye. As you have probably figured out, the long thin tube is the umbilical chord.
Here's another...
A first look at our baby's face! You can clearly see the eyes (not open yet), nose, and right ear. Absolutely amazing!
As I indicated previously, M. and I decided to find out the sex of the baby, so we now know, and we're very happy with our decision. We both agree that it's personalized the little being in M.'s tummy more for us. For example, we don't have to refer to this person as "he or she" or "it". We're able to begin imagining the future more clearly and it's very exciting, to say the least.
I want to share the sex of the baby with whomever wants to know. However, out of respect for those who wish to keep the secret from themselves, I won't do so in this post. So what I'm going to do is create another post and entitle it Spoiler. The Spoiler post itself won't give things away - I'm putting the sex in the comments section of that post. If you don't wish to know what the baby is, DON'T READ THE COMMENTS SECTION OF SPOILER. I'll do my best to not reveal the sex in future posts.

The pictures are just mesmerizing to me! As far as the sex is concerned - I don't want you to have to edit your future comments, so I will look at the spoiler. Not yet though, maybe tomorrow!
My guess is it's a boy but what the hell do I know about babies

I'm late in the game but I gotta say that I'm used to seeing these types of photos being more grainy where the baby looks like something right out of an H.R. Giger creation. I love the photos...keep em' coming and Gena and I send our love.

Yes, things are moving right along. Little "Malcolm" will be here before you know it! Tell Meredith not to worry - she'll soon get her wish and won't be able to shave her legs. Ken will have to take over! Love you all.
