During my campaign to convince M. to let me do a blog about our pregnancy, I went out and found a bunch of blogs written by other folks about their experiences. Needless-to-say, I found plenty of them by women talking about every aspect of pregnancy, from IVF, to miscarriages, to birth date countdowns. It seems that the female gender is well-represented in the blogosphere when it comes to the topic. What I really wanted to find was a blog like this one - written by a recently-inducted dad or dad-to-be.
Well, I've found one - Daddy Types, The Weblog for New Dads. While it doesn't exactly match my particular situation, many of the posts are certainly relevant to things that I'm thinking about. Also, there's a healthy dose of humor which is welcome given some of the heavier stuff that the ladies are writing about. And while I may disagree with their taste in strollers (personally, I've got my eye on some Dutch designs - more on that later) I'll be checking them daily and have added them to my blogroll.* Check them out for yourself. Oh, and I wear a size large t-shirt.
*For those of you wondering, a "blogroll" is a list of blogs that you follow or are relevant to your own. You'll see Daddy Types in the right column. I'll add others as I find them.
Oh my God...I love the Precious Moments Chapel & Wedding Island. Too funny. Please, please, please everyone (esp. Aunt Ginny) check out Buck's link above. I wonder how they'd feel if I booked a Committment Ceremony at the Precious Moments Wedding Island and demanded that there be 2 Precious Moments Grooms in all of the decorations? Located in the Ozarks...yeah, I wonder how they'd react.

OK I haven't gotten to the precious moment wedding yet. However, I did click on Daddy Types etc. Upon scrolling down I came across something that took my breath away! You know how I embrace my Catholicism and hate those Blessed Mother planters, action figure Jesus and Santa Claus in the Nativity Scene (not to mention the Last Supper in Chocolate!) but the "Unborn Baby Ornament - US Troop Model" has left me speechless. Holy Peter, Paul and Mary!!!

OK I have just visted the entire Precious Moments Chapel - and all I can say is thank God I am not the diabetic Aunt or I would have lapsed into a "coma" before I could click on the Wedding Island! Tom - get a grip. Kathleen was right - Lets Focus people!

Uh-oh...I'm seeing all kinds of potential presents for Aunt Ginny on that website. I'm leaning towards this, however:

I'm doing very well at school (all A's & B's). Can't wait to see you again!

Maternity clothes have come a long way, baby! They were just starting with the elastic in my era. We still had some clothes with the big hole cut out. That was neat! In Nana's time, they just bought a bigger size. I remember Nana with some with a little elastic on the side. I'll have to tell you Nana's "underwear" story sometime!
